Why Seed Oils Suck!

Linked to multiple chronic health issues

Including heart disease, inflammation, metabolic syndrome, autoimmunity, gut issues, obesity, cancer, and more...

High in Omega-6 Fats

While omega-6 fats are necessary for human health, they are pro-inflammatory. They must be consumed in balance with omega-3 fats which are anti-inflammatory.

According to research, individuals eating a standard western diet currently consume sixteen times more omega-6 than omega-3.

Damage Easily When Heated

Seed oils contain high levels of polyunsaturated fats that are easily transformed into harmful compounds, including carcinogens, when heated at high temperatures.

Due to this improper heating, seed oils are highly susceptible to producing free radicals, resulting in oxidative stress.

Found in Almost Everything

The ideal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fats should be no higher than 4:1 (some even advocate for a 1:1 ratio).

The average American’s ratio is between 15:1 and 25:1. It’s easy to be in this range since seed oils are found in almost every food AND since it’s the primary ingredient restaurants bake, sauté, and fry with.
